Tailspin Brewery featured on One Page Love

We are focused on bringing you a unique experience in a historic barn serving beer, Brewed For You.

Our renovated dairy barn has fed generations of Ohioans since 1933. Today, realizing the community ownership of this amazing building, we have preserved its unique character and made it a warm inviting place to enjoy friends and great locally brewed craft beer!

Our Beer

Crafted with a wide variety of tastes in mind, you are sure to find
one (or two!) that hits the mark.

Guernsey Gold Cream Ale
ABV: 5.6% IBU: 14.9

Named in honor of Jim “The Milkman,” our cream ale is  a clean, crisp ale similar to light lagers…only with more flavor and body!

Berry Bomber Ale
ABV: 5.6% IBU: 15

This raspberry infused ale will be a berry bomb on the nose and finish with a subtle fruit flavor.

Quent’s Irish Red Ale
ABV: 5.5% IBU: 25.0

This full bodied traditional Irish ale recipe is dedicated to Quentin Roosevelt, son of Teddy, who was the first commander of the 36th Fighter Squadron, Osan Air Base, Republic Of Korea. The same squadron the brewer commanded.   A toast to all those who defend our freedom, Harrumph! (Cheers!)

9Gz India Pale Ale
ABV: 6.5% IBU: 63

Ready to pull more Gz? Try this highly hopped ale with just the right amount of warm malty flavor meant to balance this unique combination of hops.

Wooden Shoe Lager
ABV: 5.3% IBU: 17

A pale lager made with German malt and yeast that produces an easily drinkable beer!  We are honored to bring back a historic label first made in Minster, OH.

Tailspin Oktoberfest Lager
ABV: 5.6% IBU: 24

Brewing in Germany used to end with the coming of spring because of the warmer temperatures and would resume in the fall. Most of these beers were brewed in March (Märzen). These brews were kept in cold storage over the spring and summer months, or brewed at a higher gravity, so they’d keep. Our Oktoberfest is a traditional Märzenbier, full-bodied, rich, toasty, a dark copper color with a medium alcohol content.

Spitfire Ale with Maple Pecan
ABV: 4.8% IBU: 19

The Spitfire is an English fighter from WWII, flown by courageous men, that turned the tide of the air war over Europe. In tribute to those brave acts, we created this traditional English brown ale with maple pecan that hits all the right notes. Dark in color and mild in flavor, raise a glass and toast the Spitfire!

Rooster Tail Stout
ABV: 5.2% IBU: 28.9

It’s Tailspin’s 5th anniversary! To help celebrate our anniversary, we’ve teamed up with our friends a Rooster Joe Coffee!  Starting with our amazing Milk Stout, we added cold brew coffee and some salted caramel too! Cheers to five years!

North 40 Lager
ABV: 5.1% IBU: 18.0

Latitude is measured in degrees above the equator. Tailspin sits 40 degrees north, giving our newest beer its name (just so you know how to navigate back!) This traditional Vienna lager is brewed using Munich, Pilsner and Vienna malts as well as yeast from the Bavarian village of Ettal. Subtle hops, crisp, with residual sweetness.

Georgia Sky Ale
ABV: 5.1% IBU: 19

An American wheat ale with peach is the perfect refreshing beer to start your summer season!

Ohio Sky Ale
ABV: 5.1% IBU: 19

Inspired by the blazing colors of Ohio sunsets. This is an American Hefeweizen infused with blood orange just perfect for your evening.

Uncle Gus Milk Stout
ABV: 5.2% IBU: 28.9

A dark, rich stout that has just the right balance of dark-roasted grains and a slightly sweet finish to keep you coming back for more.

A Little Bit About Our Story and Our Brewing Journey

Our story begins in Germany when an Air Force fighter pilot and nurse met each over a glass of local beer, of course! Luckily, we enjoyed a second assignment to Germany and the sampling continued. We observed firsthand how breweries often became an essential gathering place and how small towns eagerly supported “their” breweries.

Fast forward to today and we are excited to become one of these unique gathering places and bring craft beer home to Midwest Ohio. Tailspin Brewing Company is the perfect end to our Air Force story and the new beginning of our ‘retired’ life.
